What is Colours?

Colour is simply light of different, very diverse “wavelengths” and frequencies and light is just one form of energy that we can actually see that is made up from photons. We are all surrounded by all kinds of electromagnetic waves of energy of which colour is just a small minute part.

Colour Properties
Each and every colour has its own unique wavelength and frequency which creates its own properties. Colour simply comes from light. Sunlight of course is the main source that that we are all familiar with.

To physically see the colours from white light, we need to use a prism.

When light from the sun passes through a prism, the light is split into the seven visible colours by a process called 'refraction'. Refraction is caused by the change in speed experienced by a wave of light when it changes medium.

Light energy
The amount of energy in a given light wave is proportionally related to its frequency, thus a high frequency light wave has a higher energy than that of a low frequency light wave.

Colour is made up of different Wavelengths and Frequencies

Each colour has its own particular wavelength and frequency. Each colour can be measured in units of cycles or waves per second.

If we can imagine light travelling in waves like that in an ocean, it is these waves that have the properties of wavelength and frequency. A wavelength is the distance between the same locations on adjacent waves. As an example; an ocean full of waves, that were 10 meters apart, could be said as, having a wavelength of 10, whereas an ocean of waves that were 30 meters apart would be said as having a wavelength of 30.

Light travels in waves. A wavelength is the distance between the same locations on adjacent waves.

The same applies to light. The colour RED has a wavelength of around 700 nanometers long - one wave spans only 7 ten millionths of a meter! Whereas, Violet has a much shorter wavelength, so each violet wave would span a much shorter distance.

Waves of Energy

Within the Universe, positive and negative charges (waves of energy), are constantly vibrating and producing electromagnetic waves traveling at an incredibly high speed.(186,000 miles per second, the speed of light.)
Each of these waves has a different wavelength and speed of vibration. Together they form part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Frequency

The frequency of a wave is determined by the number of complete waves, or wavelengths, that pass a given point each second.

The colour RED for example, has a frequency of around 430 trillion vibrations a second, whereas Violet has a much higher frequency, so each violet wave would pass a given point much quicker than the colour RED.
All light travels at the same speed but each colour has a different wavelength and frequency.

Frequency of waves
To try and explain the frequency of colour and light a little further, imagine that an ocean with waves that are 10 meters apart that crash on the shore every 5 seconds could be classed as having a frequency of 5, whereas an ocean of waves 10 meters apart that crashed on the shore every 10 seconds, would be classed as having a frequency of 10. The more frequent the waves, the HIGHER the frequency.

It is these different wavelengths and frequencies that cause the different colours of light to separate and become visible when passing through a prism. This can be looked upon in the same way that radio waves have different frequencies and wavelengths, certain stations can only be listened to at a particular frequency or wavelength. So the colour blue - say, can only be visible at a particular frequency and wavelength range.

The higher the frequency, of the colour, the closer together the waves of energy are.

Higher frequency colours are - violet - indigo - blue
lower frequency colours are - yellow - orange - red.
A high frequency light wave has a higher energy than that of a low frequency light wave.
Why are things the colour they are?
Everything we can see has a colour.

Around us, in our homes, at work, in nature, in space - it is universal, everywhere has a colour, of some sort. But have you ever thought about what makes something the colour it is?

The colour of anything we observe depends upon a few factors. Firstly - Everything is made up of electrons and atoms.

How something will look when bathed in light, is governed by these atoms and electrons. Different materials, objects and items have a different make up of atoms and electrons. Any object, by its nature, will, when exposed to light, do one of the following:
·         reflect or scatter light (reflection and scattering)
·         absorb light (absorption)
·         do nothing (transmission)
·         refract light (refraction)

As these subjects are quite technical and lengthy, those among you who are keen to understand it better, I suggest that you do a search on the internet to find all about the above.

Conclusion
There are many reasons why things are the colour they are, but mainly it is due to the absorption and the scattering properties of the material being different from that of the incoming wavelengths of the light that illuminate it.

The reason for all the above is for you to understand scientifically that colours are vibrative frequencies which went going through a crystal matrix of it’s atoms, etc, creates a newer form of intense energy to serve our physical and mental needs.

Colour can exert a gentle effect on the mind and the body, influencing our dispositions and our physical health. Colour has the ability to trigger our emotions, affect the way we think and act, and influence our attitudes. You unconsciously respond to the Colour of the walls in your home, your car, your clothing, and the food you eat based on your body’s natural reactions to certain.

Colours and the psychological associations you have formed around them. The consequences of the decision to paint a room or wear a specific article of clothing therefore goes beyond aesthetics.

The Colours you encounter throughout your day can make you feel happy or sad, invigorate you or drain your vitality, and even affect your work habits. Throughout history, cultures spread over many different parts of the globe have attributed varying meanings to different Colours.

In China, blue is associated with immortality, while people in the Middle East view blue as a Colour of protection. There is also evidence that human beings respond to Colour in a very intuitive way.
Red excites us and inflames our passions. Too much red, however, can make us feel over stimulated and irritated.
Pink tends to make people feel loved and protected but also can cause feelings of lethargy.
Yellow represents joy or optimism and can energize you and help you think more clearly.
Bright orange reduces depression and sadness.
Blue and green are known to inspire peaceful feelings, and people are often able to concentrate better and work in rooms painted in soft blues and greens. The darker tones of both colours can make you feel serious and introspective.

There are ways to integrate Colour into your life that go beyond picking the hues of your décor and your wardrobe. You can meditate with Colour by concentrating on the Colours that make you feel peaceful or using a progression of Colours to symbolize a descent into a relaxed state.

"Colour carries different meanings in different contexts." If the context changes, the implications do too. One of the most crucial factors that people most often overlook is that the colours within the different layers and areas of the aura can mean completely different things. It is also important to note where the colour appears in the aura.

SCIENTIFIC UNDERSTANDING OF CHAKRAS

Metaphysical and Healing Knowledge of Chakra Colours in Relationship to Natural Crystals & Gemstones.

Crystals, Gemstones Therapy is a totally holistic and non-invasive therapy.

Using it correctly to the body can help to re-balance these 'energy centres’ aka ‘chakra.’

To understand the above, we will start from the fundamental.

“CHAKRAS” What is that?

The scientific explanation is …Our whole being is made up of electrons and sub atomic particles of atoms, neutrons, in constant movement at super hyper speeds within an explicit orbit of definite precision; held together by an invisible force.

The nucleus in itself is just pure quantum energy. Being all over the body it has energy stations, substations, sub-substations. Chinese will relate the energy centres to all the various ‘acupuncture points’ in our body.

Chakras is the Sanskrit name for “Wheels of Energy” the junction boxes of our nerves within our body. It has nothing to do with religion. There are hundreds of these energy centres, with 17 substations, and hundreds more of sub-substations. But, to make it easy for you, there are basically the seven main chakras (which mean seven basic colours of the light spectrum.) It goes from the base of our spine to the crown of our head.

It starts off with Red at the base of our spine, then orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and transparent white as top, above our crown.

Understanding the unique values and attributes of the “Colours” aims towards balancing and enhance our body’s energy (chakra) centres. The vibration and the frequency emitted by the chakras movement create the colours we see.

Each of the seven colours resonates itself with one of the main seven Chakra.

If you can imagine the Chakra as a set of cogs, or wheels, they are rather like the workings of a clock or an engine. Each cog/wheel needs to move smoothly and at a similar speed for the clock/engine to work properly. Thus good health and well being is achieved by a balance of all these energies (or the smooth running of the cogs/wheels).

***************************************************************************************************

Understanding Chakra Colours and Colours itself in general
The seven main energy centres (chakras) are like spirals of energy, each one relating to the others. Using the seven colours of the spectrum, it aims to enhance and to re-balance the Chakras that have become depleted of energy. It also to help stimulate our bodies own healing process.

Colour has a profound effect on us on all levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. If our energy centres become blocked or depleted, then our body cannot function properly and this, in turn, can lead to a variety of problems on any level.

Colour therapy can be shown to help on a physical level; however there are deeper issues around the colours on the psychological and spiritual levels.

Our well being is not purely a physical issue. Many more health practitioners are now treating patients in a holistic manner. That is to say, we are body, mind and spirit and none of these areas function entirely alone; each has an effect upon the other. This is why ‘Colour Therapy’ can be so helpful since colour addresses all levels of our being.

All life experiences have an effect upon us. Some experiences will be positive and some negative. It is these negative experiences which can manifest themselves physically over time as disease (Unease). For example, perhaps over the years we have been in a situation where we have felt unable, for one reason or another, to speak our mind, or to express our needs and feelings. This can manifest as a problem in the throat chakra. The throat chakra relates in the spiritual aspect to self expression. Thus, if our self expression has been blocked, the energy in this area will not be free flowing.

Working with the appropriate colour/colours can help to dispel negative feelings, free blocks and re-balance the body. As a general rule the colour of the crystals used in healing are normally similar to that of the chakra. For example, the darker colour crystals such as Red, Brown and Black are used on the lower chakras. This is because the lower chakras frequencies are slower than the higher chakras; therefore, you need to use crystals that are in tune with the energy frequency of those areas.

Some crystals have a fast vibration. A fast vibration in healing the chakras is the Quartz crystal, other crystals are slower and denser for example a Jasper crystal is slower and denser. The slower and denser crystals should only be used on the lower chakras. If you were to place a dense and heavy frequency crystal on a high frequency chakra such as the third eye or crown it would make you feel quite uncomfortable.

Every colour in the rainbow radiates a different vibration/frequency or wave length.

Reds vibrate very slowly and violets vibrate very quickly. The other five colours vibrate at rates in between these two. By using the correct crystals and the chakras you bring each energy centre around the body into a state of balance.

If your chakra becomes overactive, you need a crystal that would help to calm this down. For example; if you have a sore throat the crystal to use would be Blue Lace or Agate as both these crystals help to ease the throat area. However, if the problem is with communication in the throat area, you would need a faster more energetic crystal such as Sodalite; this crystal encourages and activates the throat rather than bring calm to area.

Generally speaking, but not always, one can associate a crystal with a particular energy centre/chakra or meridian lines based on the crystal’s colour. The natural ability for crystals to acquire an electric charge is the property, known as "piezoelectric", that makes them perfect for working with the chakras, which are seen as spinning wheels of human energy. When Chakras or meridian line become blocked or are not functioning properly, the energies of certain crystals can help the chakra to return to balance.

Any type of natural crystals to work with the energy centre/chakras, whether raw crystal, tumbled stone, cut and polished shapes, even beads, can be used. People work with crystals in many ways including holding them in your hand, placing them on the body on top of each chakra, or even doing intricate body layouts.

The correct crystal on a chakra can open, clear, activate, balance, or repair it.

If you are experiencing very specific physical ailments, there are crystals available that correspond certain issues with certain organs, meridians and chakras.

The correct crystal on a chakra can open, clear, activate, balance, or repair it, if needed.
There are hundreds and thousands of semi-precious and precious gemstones. In this article, I will be going only on the basic information of the values of colours, its attributes, the chakra which it relates to and some of the natural crystals and gemstones.

The ‘Cosmic Energy’ sometimes called as the “Life Force Energy” is the “Chi or Qi” in Chinese system of acupuncture and the flow of “Prana” in the Indian Ayurvedic medicine of natural healing force.

Here are a few of the other popular alternative healing practices internationally acknowledge and practiced that confirms the existence of ‘chakras.’

The science of Acupuncture/Acupressure is internationally accepted. It acknowledges and confirms the existence and position and of the various chakra/energies centres or nerves-points/ junctions in our body, and that the chi energy flows through energy channels known as meridians. Treating that particular specific point, to solve problems is their expertise.

Tai Chi are exercises that somehow force the flow of our inner cosmic energy (Chi or qi/prana) throughout the meridians of body system, repairing and balancing as it goes.

The Science of Aura Photography claims to be able to capture an individual’s auras using video cameras designed to detect the human body’s electromagnetic field. The colour of the aura is said to correspond with a person’s current physical and mental state–and in turn the state of their Chakras.

Electro-myograth is a machine that is used to measure the electrical activities of muscles.

Reiki Masters internationally works on clearing and balancing energy ‘blocks/stoppages’ within the body of others, thru their own personal energy strengths. Radiation emanates from the sites associated with Chakras, and the masters can understand and feel it intuitively and then transfer their positive force to another person. It is said that “Mental concentration on the Chakra activates it.”

Elaboration on Chakra Healing?

Cosmic Energy is vibratory energy created by the movements of atoms, neutrons, quarks, and whatever other molecules within ‘matter.’

Everything resonates. Everything vibrates. Everything has a natural frequency. Everything Physical and Non Physical creating ‘cosmic energy.’

Knowing how to use the cosmic energy should be a priority as it may be that… the #1 thing standing between you and more influence, more reach, more power over your wants, needs and desires.

What may be missing in your life… is simply (theoretically) that you're missing a few vital frequencies. They already exist, they're yearning to be activated; your ignorance of them maybe your personal loss.

So understand the following…
An incredible ecosystem of cosmic energy flows through you. It controls your emotional feelings and the needs dictate by your subconscious and desires. It influences and affects your strengths and weaknesses. Cosmic energy is always present within us and around us and everything else for that matter.

Like all any other ecosystems, the process works in tandem, and determine the strength of the whole body system in which there are seven main chakras working together to create an optimal life for you, when properly strengthened and balanced.

Is your energetic ecosystem functioning as it should, and well balanced?

What is important to know is… do you know how to influence it?
Imagine having the ability, at any time, for immediately lifting and empowering all or any aspects of your life by tapping into one of the seven chakras.

But what are these seven chakras?
As mentioned earlier… the chakras are 7 circular vortexes of energy start from the tail bone, ending at the crown of your head. They are focal points of the life cosmic force (also known as ‘prana’ in the Indian language and ‘chi’ in Chinese) and their individual energies and balanced states are essentially vital to your overall wellness.

Consider this… God has given each and every one of us unlimited potential as energetic beings then why do we face challenges in so many aspects of our lives? Why our relationships, finances, career and sex life sometimes go wrong?

It is our personal job to take good care of our body and faculties. One of the answers may be that the Chakra control of that part of your life is dysfunctional, which means it's your job to strengthen it.

Similarly to “Feng Shui” which is to work in harmony with nature…today, more and more people realize that the old science of Chakra Healing is one of the keys to almost everything you ever wanted in life. Have you ever wondered how some people can...

* Almost effortlessly become top achievers on the job, get all the money they need for necessities and luxuries alike, and still look super energetic doing it? That is because their first chakra, which governs their career and finances are strong.

* Have great relationship with your spouse in bed very regularly, although they are extremely busy in their work life and have been married for years? Their second Chakra which controls their sexuality, are most likely glowing well.

* Consistent project an image of unwavering self-confidence, even in the most difficult situations, and play an active role in their families and communities? It's all thanks to the charisma of their third chakra, which governs their personal power.

* Enjoy loving and understanding relationships with their teenage children, spouses, friends, co-workers, colleagues and resolve any disputes harmoniously? Their healthy fourth Chakra, which governs their relations, is no doubt in good corporeal shape.

* Always say what we think, articulate well, and highly respected for its authenticity? It is a bright fifth chakra, which governs their real voice at work.

* Rely on their instincts to intuitively solve problems or in making good wise decisions at home or at work most of the time. They have an effective sixth chakra, which governs their intuition, thus providing excellent insights.

* Experience an unwavering connection to the Cosmic Energy and their higher self, and enjoy the security of being in the loop with the cosmic forces The seventh Chakra, which governs and connects one to Cosmic Force, are certainly switch on and empowered.

Examples of tapping into one of the seven chakras
If you want or need to perform better at work and get the raise or promotion? Strengthen your first Chakra is advisable.

If you want to eliminate misunderstandings and connect better with your spouse, children, friends and colleagues? Work on the fourth Chakra.

If you want to spice up your sex life and enjoy a healthy energetic married activities? Unblock your 2nd Chakra.

If you want or need to lose excess fat and look good in clothes? Again, well… work on the 1st  Chakra.

This “Chakra Healing” using colours, crystals and gemstones is the foundation of the ancient science known even by primitive cultures and those during the birth of civilizations in the Middle East, South Asia, Orient, and South Americas.

Chakra Healing is an effective natural way to break free from the shackles of personal limitations.

There is a lot of information on the web/internet and books in respect to understanding and verifying the above and how natural crystals and gemstones acts as “carriers, amplifiers, transmitters and the transmuting” of the above energy. It is not possible for me to explain it all here in layman’s term as there is just too much of it.

So, if you are computer literate, do please verify, to understand better and confirm as to what is written about natural crystals, do an internet search on:
- Metaphysical Values of natural crystals and gemstones

Scientific usage / Technology usage / of natural crystals and gemstones

Please do note that “spiritual/cosmic properties/qualities” of natural crystals and gemstones are not possible to be measured scientifically and is dependent on established written personal experiences of professional people with integrity from the distant past right up to the present.

This basic foundational information is just to give you an insight and to rouse your curiosity into the mystery of crystals and of ancient esoteric science that is slowly but surely unravel by modern scientists.

It is my sincere hope that reading this will help further expand your interest and knowledge on the extra-ordinary profound world of colours and its relationship with the internal matrix build-up of natural crystals and gemstones and YOU.
